Modeled Writing
The teacher demonstrates
the writing process by talking as she writes while the students observe the writing process.
Interactive Writing
The teacher and
a small group of students compose a story together. The students write what they
know (letters or words) and the teacher writes the rest of the text.
Writing Aloud
The teacher does
the writing while demonstrating the importance of making the writing meaningful, clear, with details and colorful words, and
correct punctuation. The students help compose the story verbally while the teacher
writes and helps students to use good skills and strategies.
Independent Writing
The students compose
on their own using some or all of the following components: prewriting, drafting , revising, editing, final copy, and publishing.
