School Rules:

Rule #1 - Students will not disrupt instructional time because it interferes with everyone’s learning.

Disruption – anything that takes the class off task or stops the learning process

Instructional time – when students are in the learning process

Rule #2  - Students will be in the classroom prepared to work for a full day because they deserve every opportunity to learn.

Prepared – having all supplies and assignments and personal needs for the full day of work (7:45 – 1:55)

Rule #3  - Students will follow the bus rules because it is safe and it sets the tone for learning.

Sets the tone for learning – ready to learn

Bullying - intentionally, repeatedly and over time inflicting or threatening to inflict physical or emotional injury or discomfort on another's body, feelings or possessions.

Rule #4 – Proper building and grounds conduct will be expected from all students because it promotes a safe learning environment.

Building and grounds – hallways, lunchroom, playground, classroom

Rule #5 – Students will obey the Prince George’s County Code of Behavior because it allows them to participate safely in school activities.

 

Rule #6 – Students will complete their work to the best of their ability because they are responsible for participating in their learning.  

Participating - listening, paying attention, actively involved

Rule #7 – Restrooms are not to be used as play areas because they are for personal use only and misuses take away from instructional time.  

Misuse - water play, permanent writing on property, playing with paper towels/tissues, urinating on walls or floors or ceilings

Rule #8 – Students will be honest in their work and to themselves and others because it promotes personal and educational integrity.  

Honest in their work and to themselves - no cheating, no stealing or borrowing without permission

Personal integrity - knowing you did your best all on your own

Rule #9 – Students will not hurt the body or feelings of another person (fellow student, teacher, staff, substitute teacher, parent volunteer) nor harass or bully because everyone deserves respect and it maintains the learning environment.

Respect – calling people by their proper name, treating people the way you would like to be treated  

Bullying - intentionally, repeatedly and over time inflicting or threatening to inflict physical or emotional injury or discomfort on another's body, feelings or possessions.

Rule #10 – Vandalism, destruction of school property, or personal property within the school is prohibited because it is against the law and destroys property.

Vandalism – permanent defacing of walls, desk, floors or destruction of property

Rule #11 – The complete school uniform is to worn every day.
